Benio Ishioka from Tokyo University of the Arts
TITLE | Uknit
Entering university coincided with the end of the COVID pandemic.
It was a time when, by coming together, we could regain the connections that had been interrupted and once again share the warmth of each other's presence.
The sense of time I feel within myself resembles the temporality of knitting and unravelling-of weaving two things into one, reconnecting and regenerating them.
Knitting by hand, devoting time as the greatest sincerity I can offer in this moment.
By dismantling and re-knitting what has been made, I revisit and reflect upon memories and the passage of time.
In that reversibility, I feel both nostalgia and newness.
