TITLE | Not Straight Chair
My chair design was born from the idea that "straight lines come together to form a curve."
Each straight line is an independent element, yet they shape a single curve through their interaction.
In this relationship, the straight lines represent the "parts," while the curve represents the "whole."
The gathering of parts creates the whole, and at the same time, the overall form defines the meaning of each part.
When a person actually sits on the chair, their body becomes a part of the curve, creating new relationships and subtle movements within an otherwise quiet structure.
I wanted to express this kind of experience.
