At Nomura, we believe in “unlocking every possibility within spaces, beginning with each individual’s creativity.” In line with DESIGNART TOKYO 2025’s theme, “Brave – The Pursuit of Instinctive Beauty,” our exhibition reveals the unseen efforts and stories behind making, inviting visitors to rediscover beauty as instinctive and deeply human.
In everyday life, we rarely stop to consider what lies behind the objects around us—how much time, skill, and dedication has been poured into their making, or whose hands have shaped them. Yet within factories and workshops, countless fragments remain: early prototypes, discarded pieces, worn tools, and traces of repeated trial and error. Each carries the presence of its maker and the quiet record of ingenuity, persistence, and decision-making that ultimately gives rise to a finished work.
Through this project, CREDIT – Fragments of Making, we shine a light on those unseen stories. By researching and collecting fragments born in the process of making, we seek to create opportunities for people to shift how they see objects and reconsider the criteria by which they choose them.
