This project created spaces and furniture that resonate with both natural landscapes and human activity.
The setting was the tranquil Seto Inland Sea surrounding a paint company that creates a world of rich colors, and the natural power residing in the rich topography of Senzu Island. Drawing on colors extracted from these picturesque waterside views, furniture was designed to embody the rugged texture of rocky outcrops and the layered hues of the earth. Each piece possesses a sculptural presence, yet when stacked, they collectively build a landscape within the space, like fragments of terrain.
Each piece of furniture scattered throughout the space becomes a fragment holding memories of nature. As people layer their own time upon it, new landscapes are continually born.
