gekitetz Inc. presents void reconstruct (ykgw), a work that visualizes environmental sounds collected through fieldwork. By reconstructing the contours of a city revealed through sound, the relationships and emotional landscapes between people and their urban surroundings are explored. This presentation, part of a regional revitalization project, was created during “THE ARTIST IN RESIDENCE” program in the Yokogawa area in Hiroshima in 2024. It is centered on a sound visualization installation collected from this residency. Alongside of this installation, graphic works archiving the visualized imagery are on display. Recording sound and preserving its archive - this is where a new dialogue with the city begins.
