In my creative process, I embrace nature’s forces, letting human intention meet the unexpected traces left by wind, rain, or snow. Sometimes I leave the studio, lay washi paper on the ground, weigh it with stones or branches, and respond with my brush to natural elements. This dialogue reminds me that I am part of nature.
Two years ago, I spent a month in Germany to create and exhibit. I sensed a spirit of order and rational beauty in the city, but what impressed me most was people’s quiet yet strong awareness of nature. Even where city and nature were clearly divided, reverence for the environment was woven into daily life.

In Japan, painting has long lived within spaces, on folding screens and sliding doors. Showing my work in a living space now allows me to reflect on
