TITLE | whimsical roof
This work is an experimental device that reimagines "roof", something in an architectural scale, as something that can be freely positioned to the body; like a piece of furniture, or even smaller still, an umbrella or a hat. By shifting this relationship, it seeks to generate bodily and spatial phenomena in the relationship between the body and the roof.
Freed from columns, this floating and drifting roof becomes a momentary architecture; something fleeting and ephemeral rather than a temporary piece of architecture. Suspended in the air, it sways responding to the slightest breeze, or is gently guided by the hand of a person. As it continually changes its site and height, it weaves delicate, unintentional relationships, each moment and each place it lands on.
