TOYOTA Structure Design Studio creates a Zero Waste Car through its philosophy, "Geological Design." From the start, we minimize resource use, choose materials carefully, recycle, and upcycle materials into something more valuable. This exhibition presents the facts of resource use on a life-size scale. Visitors can see the works closely from different angles. All materials were originally for cars, which would otherwise become waste, including glass—rarely recycled—and "slag," the residue after metals are reused or upcycled. We express the diversity of glass by enclosing automotive materials. Glass reveals the unseen memories of past lives and the free, multifaceted transformations of materials. Following last year’s exhibition, this is our second showing. Last year’s works are in the basement, with new pieces on the ground floor, letting visitors feel the connection between them.
