Urushi Shoyo invites visitors to encounter the timeless beauty of Japanese lacquer through moments of unexpected discovery. There are times in daily life when an unforeseen scene stirs the heart—turning a corner to find blossoms in full bloom, or stepping onto a rooftop to be greeted by an endless sky and sweeping horizon. Such encounters, though ordinary, leave us unexpectedly captivated. For this exhibition, lacquer works are placed throughout the store. Wall-mounted pieces evoke clouds and the sun, while objects take on soft, rounded forms, some with lids, offering a sense of warmth and familiarity. As you wander through the space, we hope these urushi works will appear like fleeting moments of beauty in everyday life—unanticipated encounters that quietly linger in memory.
