YAMAGIWA and Keita Suzuki present an installation and a process exhibition of the new portable light “SOLO” at Vacant/Centre. Guided by the idea of “light that lets us be human,” SOLO sets out to design quietness. An angled cutaway shade and a 60° beam place a gentle pool of light on your hands, keeping spill and glare out of sight and mind. Two types: desktop and a 1100 mm stand. Set the stand behind a sofa to light only your hands while reading, or beside a dining table to illuminate just its center, leaving room for conversation and calm. Portable for indoors and out, SOLO tunes the surrounding luminance to live softly with digital devices. Three craft-like finishes complete the feel: silk white, cast-textured matte black, and vivid green. For reading, writing, and thinking, SOLO is a quiet companion that supports introspection and deep focus.
